The automotive industry in America is huge, with more people traveling by car than any other mode of transport.  In 2016, automotive sales are growing at the fastest pace since 2000.  Most companies are beating their sales expectations and automakers posted a 6.9% sales increase in February, compared with a year earlier.   While these numbers are positive, they are not sharing the full story on the state of the American automotive industry. While sales numbers are up, North American production is only up 4% on the year.  Production is being supplemented by imports coming in from Europe and Japan.  This…

New jobs are opening up, reshoring is fast becoming a trend and many major producers are choosing the United States as the manufacturing stronghold for its savvy and empowered millennial population of buyers. There is however another aspect of this revival that…

UNIVERSAL POLYMER SOARS WITH RUBBER TECHNOLOGY ADVANCEMENTS AND RUBBER EXTRUSIONS

The extrusion process is the mainstay of the manufacturing industry. It is relatively affordable and leads to the production of precisely shaped two-dimensional objects in a continuous line or flow. It allows manufacturers the freedom to create end deliverables in large batches and then serve multiple customers by cutting the extruded products to the desired length and shipping them out to the buyers. Extrusion allows strict adherence to customer specifications. Since the process in itself is not dependent on a plunger or a clamp (as is injection molding), it can accept brittle raw material as input and work with it…

WHAT DOES MOLDING ENTAIL AND ITS VARIOUS TYPES: Technically speaking molding is a balancing act between application of heat and pressure. The two factors work in tandem to trigger a chemical reaction…
