Rubber Extrusion

Rubber extrusion is a cost-effective rubber manufacturing method that is exceptionally well suited for tubing, seals, vibration dampers, and other components with a defined cross-section. Extruded rubber shapes are durable, flexible, and versatile. 

Rubber extruders function by warming uncured rubber to an appropriate temperature and forcing the material through a die cut opening called an extruder die. Extruder dies are extremely customizable, allowing for a virtually unlimited number of extruded rubber shapes for a tremendous range of applications. The resulting shape can be cut to any length.

The rubber and polymer extrusion process is highly efficient and produces very little waste, both of which contribute to lower production costs. UP&R has multiple rubber extrusion lines to ensure we can always meet our customers’ deadlines.

Rubber Molding

Rubber molding is a versatile and customizable rubber manufacturing process that can produce highly complex components with great precision. UP&R has considerable expertise in multiple types of rubber molding, including injection molding, compression molding, and transfer molding, each of which offers unique advantages. Rubber molding is compatible with many varieties of natural and synthetic rubber.

Die Cutting

Die-cutting is the practice of using specialized tools to cut materials into highly precise, complex shapes. The die-cutting process is fast, efficient, and versatile, allowing for tremendous flexibility. While creating a custom die can be somewhat expensive, that single tool can be reused many times to create precise, identical shapes. Because of this, die-cutting is an excellent, cost-effective option for high-volume production. Die-cut rubber has many applications, including seals, gaskets, vibration-dampening components, and more. The automotive, aerospace, and electronics industries are among many that leverage die-cut rubber.

Plastic Extrusion

Plastic extrusion shares many similarities with rubber extrusion in terms of advantages and applications. However, there are a few key differences that must be considered during manufacturing. For example, plastic extruded shapes do not require curing and can be melted and reused. Additionally, some plastic materials are better suited to achieving certain pigments.
